The EAG forums, Discord channels, and game chats are intended to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for our community. These rules will extend to all three of our communication media venues.

To maintain order and a sense of community, all community members/players should read and follow this policy. This policy is being implemented and posted to provide you with information about what you can expect as when using our forums, Discord chat, and game server chats, what is expected of you, and to answer questions relating to moderation of these venues.

    Community Rules of Conduct
The following rules of conduct are to be followed when using our forums, Discord server and various game chats. Breach of these rules will result in users being reprimanded as described in the policy below these rules.

    1. SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED CONTENT
The purpose of the EAG forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and discussion pertaining to the various games we host, including our discord server and the various game chats. There will of course be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum, Discord users, and players communicating in game chat are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.

In order to maintain an environment where everyone is welcome and discussion flows freely, certain types of conduct are prohibited on our forums, Discord server and game chats.
    These are:
    • Trolling (with the intent to insult, disrupt or cause trouble)
    • Flaming
    • Ranting
    • Personal Attacks
    • Harassment
    • Doxxing
    • Racism & Discrimination
    • Sexism
    • Spamming
    • Bumping
    • New Player Bashing
    • Impersonation
    • Advertising

EAG is not about being everyone’s policemen. We expect and anticipate that players will conduct themselves as adults and abide by our rules. Having said that, we also understand that people often get distracted when chatting while gaming, and when enjoying conversation. People may make off comments or touch on sensitive or politically charged subjects. If the conversation is polite and respectful on both sides then we leave it to the individuals to take it to a peaceful conclusion. If this cannot be done, we expect the participants to end their conversation. Our intervention will commence when we are made aware that one or both parties are taking the exchange to a combative level. For individuals who blatantly and with malice use comments or conversations on a continual basis, or for a prolonged period of time for the purpose of instigating the above listed behaviors, we will take swift action to address it.

We will not intervene because one person hears one comment. If you are privy however, to a conversation that violates the above rules, then you have the right to politely ask the participants involved to amend their inappropriate conversation. If they refuse to amend it, then it is appropriate to file a complaint.

We also understand, that as people are different, not everyone will mesh well with everyone. If two players find they do not get on well in conversation, please avoid each other. You will never convince or change a person through bickering and angry, argumentative conversation. If a person you do not do well with is in a particular chat room, don’t go in there. It’s very simple.

This applies to rivalries between factions and clans in games where those groups exist. It is not uncommon for us to receive complaints from one group about another. We take these seriously and do our best to resolve them. But in the end, again, we are adults here and should conduct ourselves as such. (we will post simple pvp rules in the near future and develop more comprehensive rules as needed)

Again, we are a community of adults and gamers, it is without question that you will hear irreverent banter on occasion. If you cannot ever tolerate that sort of conversation, then you may want to consider if EAG is the right fit for you.

PLEASE NOTE: Faction chat channels, and in game faction chat are monitored by the faction leader/founder. If you experience abuses in a faction chat channel, assuming you are a member or friend of the faction and have been given permission to be in that channel, the appropriate course of action will be to contact the faction leader/founder or one of their admins. If the EAG Executive Team receives continue complaints of faction channel abuses, we will contact the faction leader/founder with the expectation that they take care of the situation. If after the appropriate warnings, or we are unable to contact them, we will consider deleting the faction channel from discord.

    2. POST CONSTRUCTIVELY
Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve game play, community direction and development if it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All members are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EAG and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Members are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

    3. ABUSE OF FORUM TOOLS IS PROHIBITED
Our forums provide several additional plugins and tools, including the ability to embed videos and images, along with additional emojis and polling software (polling can only be implemented by admins). Use of these tools to troll, flame, post inappropriate content or otherwise break the forum rules is prohibited.

    4. CORRECT LANGUAGE
The default language for posting on the EAG forums is English. Please use English when posting as a courtesy to other forum users. This extends to our game-chats, unless using faction chat, such as in Empyrion.

    5. REPRIMAND POLICY
EAG operates a tiered system of warning and associated suspension for transgressions of the rules. The list below shows our warning and suspension/ban policy. Please be aware that if a transgression of the rules is severe enough, this policy may be bypassed completely in favor of a permanent community ban.
    • 1ST OFFENCE – WARNING
    • 2ND OFFENCE – 15 DAY SUSPENSION
    • 3RD OFFENCE – 30 DAY SUSPENSION
    • 4TH A PERMANENT BAN FROM OUR COMMUNITY
Coupled with this listing, leniency may be applied when issuing a suspension depending upon individual circumstances. This leniency lies entirely at the discretion of the EAG.

    6. RECEIVED WARNINGS AND SUSPENSIONS
Warnings and suspensions are delivered via a private message/conversation on the forums and/or email if applicable.
A permanent ban from the forums will prevent the ability to log into the forums, Discord and game servers at all.

    7. SUSPENSION APPEALS
Appeals can be made by contacting Hitliz@eag.space. If you are a registered member of the EAG Community, please send your appeal via your registered email, if applicable. Full justification for the behavior that caused the issue of the reprimand, plus a solid case for the reinstatement of community privileges must be presented.
The Executive Team will decide based on the case presented. Their decision will be final.

    8. PERMANENT BANS AND APPEALS
Permanent bans are rarely issued, and only in severe cases where a member or player has grossly violated the rules or has demonstrated a proven track record of disruptive and abusive behavior after repeated warnings and temporary suspensions.
Permanent bans are not eligible for general appeal.
Those who have been permanently banned from the forums may however appeal if they feel they have been banned unfairly, or in error.
Decisions regarding permanent forum bans lie solely with the Executive Team, and any decisions made regarding their issue are final.

    9. COMPLAINTS
If any player or community member has an issue or complaint regarding the conduct of our forum/Discord/game server moderators, the EAG Executive Team can be reached by contacting Hitliz@eag.space.
